Spring training is in full swing, and while the focus is on finalizing the Opening Day roster, there’s plenty of news coming out of camp. From roster moves to broadcast upgrades, the Atlanta Braves are making changes before the season even starts.

So, let’s dive into the latest updates, including prospects to watch, notable names moving around, and an exciting new way for fans to enjoy Braves baseball.

FanDuel Sports Network (FDSN) is stepping up this season, offering a Spanish-language option for all regional regular season broadcasts. Gray Media will still handle a portion of the coverage. This addition ensures a broader reach for one of baseball’s most passionate fanbases.

Francisco X. Rivera, a seasoned broadcaster with an impressive résumé is leading the charge. Rivera has nearly two decades of experience and has called games for MLS, NFL, NHL, NBA, and now MLB. In fact, according to Rivera himself, this makes him the first broadcaster to call all five major U.S. sports leagues in the same year.

He has a background with Fox Sports Deportes and deep connection to the sport. That makes him a fantastic addition to Atlanta’s already strong broadcasting team.

With Opening Day around the corner, the Braves are making their final decisions. That means a few players are getting reassigned. Right-hander Dylan Covey was sent to minor league camp after an underwhelming spring performance.

Signed to a minor league deal last month, Covey posted a 4.05 ERA over 6.2 innings in MLB camp. Given that he barely pitched in 2024 due to a shoulder injury, he was always more of a depth piece than a real contender for a big-league role.

On the position player side, infielder Charles Leblanc was also reassigned. Leblanc, who spent last year in the Angels organization, put up solid numbers at Triple-A (.254/.379/.437 with 12 homers and 52 RBIs) and showed promise with his ability to get on base. In nine spring training games, he went 5-for-16 with a home run, three RBIs, a walk, and four strikeouts.

While he won’t break camp with the big-league club, he’s another name to watch in the minors who could provide value if the Braves need infield depth later this season.

As the dust settles, Atlanta now has 43 players left in camp, and the biggest question mark remains the bullpen. With three spots still up for grabs, competition is heating up. Expect more moves over the next couple of weeks as the Braves fine-tune their roster and determine who will be in the mix for those final relief spots.

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates. The Braves season is right around the corner. With a mix of veteran talent, exciting prospects, and key reinforcements, Atlanta looks poised to make another deep run in 2025.
