It didn’t take long for Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker to make his intentions crystal clear for 2025. In fact, it wasn’t even an hour after the Braves season ended when the 68-year-old skipper confidently announced that he plans to return to lead the team next year. For Snitker, the disappointment of 2024 is already in the rearview mirror, and he’s eager to jump into Spring Training.

The 2024 season may not have gone as the Braves hoped, but despite the challenges, Snitker guided the team to a solid 89-73 record and yet another postseason appearance. The Braves battled through injuries to some of their biggest stars, including Ronald Acuña Jr., Spencer Strider, and even Austin Riley, who went down during the critical stretch run. Without these key players for large chunks of the season, the Braves’ path wasn’t easy, but they stayed competitive under Snitker’s leadership.
It’s easy to see why Snitker is a mainstay in Atlanta. His resume speaks for itself: 1,317 regular-season games managed over nine seasons, a 735-582 overall record, six division titles, seven postseason appearances, and of course, that coveted 2021 World Series championship. With a track record like that, most managers would be ready to ride off into the sunset. But not Snitker. The way 2024 ended has him hungry for more.
Snitker’s return in 2025 wasn’t always a given, though. After the rollercoaster season, there was plenty of speculation about his future. Whispers about whether he would be fired, retire, or even move into a cushy front office role swirled throughout baseball circles. Insiders like Ken Rosenthal suggested Snitker might transition into an advisory role, but those rumors were quickly put to bed. Snitker has no plans to step aside just yet – he’s determined to be back in the dugout.
Next year will mark the final season of Snitker’s current contract, but that doesn’t mean it will be his last. The Braves’ 2025 season opener on March 27 in San Diego might just be the start of another thrilling chapter for the veteran manager. It’s funny how baseball works sometimes, isn’t it? The Braves will begin their 2025 journey right where the 2024 season ended. For Snitker, though, it’s clear the story is far from over.
