Two Atlanta Braves players have been named finalists for the 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards. Matt Olson received another finalist nod, while Nick Allen earned his first career nomination.
Olson eyes third career Gold Glove
Olson has a chance to capture the third Gold Glove of his career—and his first as a member of the Braves. The veteran first baseman previously won back-to-back awards with the Oakland Athletics in 2018 and 2019. He was also a finalist last season, though teammate Chris Sale ultimately took home the hardware.
If Olson wins, he would become the first Braves first baseman to win the Gold Glove since Freddie Freeman in 2018.
The 2025 Braves Player of the Year was a rock at first base, playing all 162 games without a single day off at designated hitter. Olson matched his .996 fielding percentage from last season while cutting his error total to just five.
Advanced metrics bolster his case. Olson led all MLB first basemen with 17 Defensive Runs Saved (DRS), per FanGraphs, far ahead of runners-up Spencer Steer and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (eight each).
Offensively, Olson remained a steady force in Atlanta’s lineup, slashing .272/.850 with 29 home runs, 95 RBIs, and an NL-best 41 doubles through the 2025 regular season.
Allen earns first Braves Gold Glove nod

While Nick Allen’s bat was inconsistent at times, his glove lived up to its billing. The defensive specialist finished with a .988 fielding percentage and five errors, while posting 12 Defensive Runs Saved, second among National League shortstops behind Mookie Betts, according to FanGraphs.
Allen’s quick hands and elite range routinely robbed hitters of base hits. Even after losing his starting job late in the year, his defensive impact ensured he remained a valuable contributor off the bench.
If Allen wins, he would be the first Braves shortstop to capture the award since Dansby Swanson in 2022.
Gold Glove voting and announcement
Per MLB.com, Gold Glove winners are determined by votes from 30 MLB managers and up to six coaches from each team, who may not vote for their own players. Those ballots make up 75% of the total vote, while the remaining 25% comes from the SABR Defensive Index.
The 2025 Gold Glove Award winners will be announced on Sunday, Nov. 2, live on ESPN.
