Kristen Bell may be best known for her work on screen, but a surprise performance at a Savannah Bananas baseball game reminded plenty of fans that acting is only part of her résumé.

The 46-year-old actress, who voiced Anna in Disney’s 2013 blockbuster Frozen, broke into “For the First Time in Forever” during Saturday’s Savannah Bananas game in Denver, Colorado. Bell performed from the stadium stands, delivering the familiar song live in front of the crowd.

Footage of the moment quickly spread online, where the reaction centered on one thing: Bell can seriously sing.

Pop culture account @jockcult shared video of the performance on X and joked that the internet was “collapsing upon discovering that she actually knows how to sing in real life.”

The comments suggested at least some viewers really had forgotten.

“Her serving vocals, I’m shocked,” one person wrote.

“Woah, she sounds so good live!” another added.

A third fan pointed out the obvious connection to Bell’s Disney work: “People really forgot Kristen Bell has been casually carrying Anna’s vocals this whole time.”

Another admitted, “I had no idea either. Her voice is genuinely amazing!”

A Broadway Star Joins Bell at the Ballpark

Bell wasn’t the only performer bringing Broadway-style vocals to the baseball game.

She was joined by Derek Klena, the 34-year-old Broadway performer who has added an unusual second job to his résumé as a Savannah Bananas player. Klena, who officially joined the team in December 2025 after being scouted, performed “Dancing Through Life” from Wicked while wearing his baseball uniform on the field.

Bell and Klena then teamed up for the finale, performing “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” together.

The Savannah Bananas’ official Instagram account described the pairing as “the mashup we never knew we needed.”

The performance even caught the attention of some familiar names.

Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause joked in the comments, “Wait, I like sports now…?”

Reese Witherspoon also reacted, writing that Bell was “making the Bananas even more magical.”

Bell Is Heading Back to ‘Frozen’

The baseball appearance comes as Bell prepares to return to one of the roles most closely associated with her singing voice.

She is set to reprise Anna in the third Frozen movie, continuing the Disney franchise alongside Idina Menzel as Elsa. Disney has already begun previewing the upcoming installment, including an appearance at its D23 convention in Anaheim, California, where Bell and Menzel performed together.

For anyone who somehow made it through two Frozen movies without realizing Bell was doing plenty of the singing herself, the Savannah Bananas appearance offered a very public reminder. No recording booth, no animated princess, and no elaborate Disney production were necessary — just Bell, a baseball crowd and a song fans have been hearing for more than a decade.
