In the heart of December’s chill, while most of Atlanta prepared for the holidays with warm meals and festive lights, the Braves were stepping up to the plate in a very different way, not with bats or gloves, but with thousands of hot meals and a mission of compassion.
Ballpark Kitchens Turned Into Relief Hubs
As part of their annual Season of Giving campaign, the Atlanta Braves, together with longtime catering partner Delaware North and corporate sponsor Truist, transformed Truist Park into something rarely seen this time of year: a holiday relief kitchen. Since December 2, the ballpark’s kitchens have fired up daily, not for baseball fans, but for families across Cobb County, Fulton County, and the greater metro area facing hardship this winter. The result? Nearly 15,000 prepared meals served with care and dignity.
On Wednesday, the effort culminated in a major distribution event that brought together volunteers, community organizations, and Braves personnel to deliver nearly 1,000 meals directly to those who need them most. While the stadium stands quiet in the off-season, its legacy of teamwork clearly stretches beyond the confines of the game.
Beyond Meals: A Holistic Holiday Effort
But this is only part of the story. The Season of Giving isn’t a one-note operation. The Braves Foundation, known for its deep roots in the community, also focused its holiday campaign on bringing joy to children in the foster system and families navigating uncertain times. From toy donations to targeted support for foster programs, the initiative has layered generosity with intentional outreach, a nod to the many faces of need that emerge during the holiday season.
Giving That Hits Home Across Braves Country

What makes this effort resonate is not just the scale, but the consistency. Year after year, the Braves have used their platform not just for sports but for service. And while the box scores won’t reflect it, delivering 15,000 meals and countless moments of hope might just be their most impressive stat this season.
