If you thought the Atlanta Braves were going to sit on their hands and watch the season play out, think again. In a move that’s got fans buzzing, Atlanta has turned back the clock just a bit, bringing back two major players from their unforgettable World Series run — Ian Anderson and Eddie Rosario.

First up, Ian Anderson is officially back with the Major League squad. Yep, the same Anderson who was recently designated for assignment by the Angels after a rocky stretch.

He made seven appearances, an ERA north of eleven, and opponents hitting nearly .400 off him. But hey, this is baseball, and the Braves clearly believe there’s still some of that postseason magic left in his arm.

Fun side note: the guy they traded for Anderson, Jose Suárez, didn’t exactly set the world on fire either. The Braves already cut ties with him. That whole trade? Call it a mulligan.

Outfielder Eddie Rosario is making a triumphant return. Remember 2021? Rosario was absolutely electric during the postseason, even grabbing NLCS MVP honors.

Fast forward to today, and after a blink-and-you-missed-it stint with the Dodgers — just four at-bats before getting DFA’d — Rosario has signed a Major League deal with Atlanta.

His numbers last year weren’t exactly MVP material. If there’s a chance he can recapture some of that playoff spark, Braves fans will take it. With the way the Braves outfield has been swinging the bats lately, bringing in a proven playoff hero feels like a roll of the dice worth making.

With the new faces coming in, a few had to make way. Outfielder Jarred Kelenic — once the darling of the Mariners’ farm system — is heading to Triple-A after batting just .167 this season. He’ll join Bryan De La Cruz in Gwinnett, leaving the big-league outfield to the surging Eli White and the returning Rosario.

Also sent down was right-hander Davis Daniel, who didn’t even get a chance to pitch in a game for the Braves, poor guy. And righty Zach Thompson? Despite a solid showing, he’s been designated for assignment — no runs allowed over 3 2/3 innings.

The Braves are making moves. They’re mixing experience with upside, hoping to spark some better offense from an outfield that’s been all too quiet outside of Michael Harris II.

Could this be the shake-up Atlanta needs to catch fire? Stay tuned — baseball in Atlanta just got a whole lot more interesting.
