Braves Unveil Spring Invites With Baldwin Leading the Charge

Braves Invite Key Bullpen Wild Cards to Spring Training along with Drake Badwin

Spring training is just around the corner, and the Atlanta Braves are quickly running out of time to make any last-minute roster additions.

The biggest offseason need—outfield depth—was addressed with the recent signing of Jurickson Profar, but there’s still some work to be done.

A little extra bullpen help and perhaps another rotation depth piece would go a long way in rounding out the roster before Opening Day.

The good news is the Braves still have a couple of weeks before pitchers and catchers report to Florida, so there’s a window—albeit a shrinking one—to make some moves.

But in the meantime, the team has already taken a step forward, officially releasing their list of non-roster invitees for 2025 spring training.

Drake Baldwin Leads Braves’ Non-Roster Invitees for Spring Training

There weren’t too many surprises on this year’s list, but one name stands out: Drake Baldwin.

With Travis d’Arnaud now out of the picture, the Braves’ top-catching prospect was all but guaranteed to receive an invite. The team wants to get a closer look at him, and rightfully so.

Baldwin has steadily climbed the ranks in the minors. If he performs well in camp, there’s a real shot he could challenge for a roster spot—especially if Sean Murphy struggles early.

No Cam Caminiti—But That’s No Surprise

Of course, some Braves fans were hoping for an even bigger name—first-round pick Cam Caminiti. But let’s be real, this one wasn’t too shocking.

Caminiti was drafted straight out of high school. While the Braves have a reputation for aggressively pushing their prospects, it’s still rare for a high school pick to get a big league camp invite in their first full professional season.

That being said, don’t be surprised if he forces his way into the conversation next year.

Bullpen Battle: De Los Santos and Shreve Could Make an Impact

As for other invitees, there are a couple of bullpen arms worth watching. Enyel De Los Santos and Chasen Shreve both have big league experience.

Given the current state of the Braves bullpen, they’ve got a legitimate shot at cracking the Opening Day roster.

If either of them impresses in camp, they could carve out a role—at least to start the season.

So, what’s next for the Braves? They’ve addressed some key areas with a little time left before spring training officially kicks off.

The question remains: will Alex Anthopoulos make one more move?
